In the video I teach you the Salsa basic step. This is the most important step in the Salsa as it will serve as the foundation for all your other steps. We show the step to music and to the count. Then, we show the man’s breakdown of the steps, lady’s breakdown of the steps and lastly we talk about the lead.

This year’s Salsa congress was very entertaining indeed. The main theme running through this year’s jack and Jill contest, was taking off shirts! Last year it was talking on cell phones while dancing. In the Jack and Jill contest, where the couples are matched up randomly, there were a few couples that stood out the most. Here are 2 of my favorite Salsa videos.
This dance video should remind everyone why they started dancing in the first place– to have fun! Danny and his partner are having so much fun together that it seems as though they are about to crack up at any given second. In addition, their dancing here is pure lead and follow. Notice how they are not thinking about anything, they are FEELING each others’ movement and interpreting the music. This is the way dancing was always meant to be. I challenge you to go out dancing next time and have as much fun as these two. Enjoy!
